This article explains how users can change the layout of ArtEngine by moving panels, resizing them, deleting them, etc.

Tip
titleTypical use cases
  • User wants to change the layout of the software to focus more on the node graph, or the viewers, etc.
  • User wants to remove a panel because he has no use for it

Step-by-step guide

All panels within the interface can be moved and resized based on the user's preference. This allows them to tailor the layout to their individual workflow.

  1. Hover your mouse over a panel border - clicking and dragging to resize.
  2. Grabbing the top of a panel will allow you to drag it where you like (blue feedback will display to show where the panel will be positioned)
  3. You can also pop-out a panel to place it on a second monitor for example, or to close it
  4. If you want to re-open a previously closed panel, navigate to the Window tab in the menu bar, and click on the panel you want to display

This flexibility this offers can be seen in the differences of layout in the following examples.

Warning

We are working on a 'Reset Layout' option in case a user wants to easily revert to the default layout.

For now, you can still reset the layout by following these steps:

  • Make sure ArtEngine is not running
  • Navigate to the Artomatix AppData folder by typing %appdata% then enter in your Windows file explorer
  • Go in the '.artomatix' folder
  • Delete boxgraph.json
  • Open ArtEngine
  • Layout should be back to its default position

You can reset your layout in the menu bar: Window/Reset Layout.
